SUMMARY:Gav Cross: Traditional Tales with a Twist
DESCRIPTION:In a lovely little house\, in the middle of a lovely quiet wood\, things are shaping up to be a very good day indeed. \nThere’s breakfast on the table\, but it’s just too hot so time for a family morning walk. \nBut how quickly things can change! A broken antique chair\, and a very noisy snorer. \nThings are about to take a turn for the worse in this well-known tale\, told from a different point of view. \nGav Cross is a brilliant storyteller with an eye for twisting and tweaking a tale or two. \nJoin him on a breakfast-time adventure and maybe come up with a few stories of your own along the way. \nAge guide 5+ \nPay What You Can (PWYC)

Based on an amazing Houdini style escape the show is packed with stunts\, illusions and great comic routines. \n11am Market Place \n2pm Market Place \n\nNever too Old\n \nA long-suffering Grandpa and a stubborn Grandma battle it out for your attention and affections. This Yorkshire couple have certainly been around for decades\, but they’re no strangers to the 21st century. They’re feisty\, they’re mobile (well\, just about…) and they’re connected (they know what social media is… and they’re not afraid to use it!) Living proof that you’re never too old to do anything… \n10am-4pm Ripon City Centre \n\nThe Great Mandavi\n \nDescribed as “eccentric”\, “hilarious” and “charming”\, this act is a firm favourite at festivals across the UK. Too busy performing at Glastonbury to join us 2022\, he has cleared his schedules to bring unicycling\, juggling and antics to Ripon. Don’t miss him this year! \n10am Market Place \n1pm Minster Gardens \n3pm Market Place \n\nThe (Little) Hazelsong Dragons\n \nCute or scary? You decide. Mobile\, curious and persistent\, you’d better watch out – they could be anywhere! \n10am-4pm Ripon City Centre \n\nThe Giant Balloon Show\n \nThe Giant Balloon Show will have the audience in stitches and in awe simultaneously. Expect feverous balloon sculptures\, high energy comic performance and of course the all-important giant balloon! Take everything you know about balloons\, add an award-winning entertainer and an 80’s soundtrack\, and twist that into a highly entertaining show for the whole family. \n11.30am Market Place \n1.30pm Minster Gardens \n\nLocal Performers\nEnjoy some super local performers throughout the day\, including: \nAll For One Choir \n \nRipon Youth Theatre \n \nFreddie Cleary \n \nRipon City Morris Dancers \n \n400 Roses \n \nMaggie Wakeling \n \nAlannah Creed \n \n  \n
