SUMMARY:Where is Mrs Christie?
DESCRIPTION:Agatha Christie was one of the greatest and most prolific thriller writers of all time. \nIn 1926\, she was at the centre of a mystery as perplexing as any of her fiction\, sparking one of the biggest and most extensive police hunts in history. \nHer crashed car was discovered in Surrey with the famous author missing. She was presumed dead by many but eleven days later\, found staying at a luxury hotel in Harrogate. \nThe author claimed that she remembered nothing of the events. Neither the press nor the police believed her…. \nDid she lie\, or was it really amnesia? \nWas it a publicity stunt or was there a darker secret behind the disappearance? \nAs in every good thriller\, all will be revealed! \nFind out the fascinating truth in a stellar performance by Liz Grand. \nWritten and directed by Chris Jaeger. Presented by On a Role Productions \nSponsored by Specsavers\, Ripon \nTicket price: £10 – £12

SUMMARY:Steve Bonham: Stumbling Over Eden
DESCRIPTION:Based upon Steve’s much-loved book of the same name\, Stumbling Over Eden is a one-hour show that combines story and song to celebrate the adventurer\, explorer and vagabond within us all. \nFrom the notion of freedom and the beauty of the trail to the joy of travelling companions and the meaning of home. \nNot just the story of an eccentric journey from the top of the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara desert\, but an invitation to explore just what is adventure? \nFunny\, moving\, authentic\, and – sometimes! – profound\, with great songs\, it is a show like no other. \n“This is a ‘boy’s own’  – and girls! – adventure from the nineteenth century\, acted out and described in the twenty-first century on the doorstep of Europe. \nIn his account of the 540km walk from the High Atlas mountains\, across the Anti Atlas\, then following the exotic river Draa into the Saharan sand dunes\, you will fall into a world and people as fascinating and friendly as any fairy tale.”  Mike McHugo OBE\, co-founder of the Kasbah du Toubkal \nCombine with brunch for a perfect Sunday morning. \nPay What You Can (PWYC)

SUMMARY:Drama at the Workhouse
DESCRIPTION:Following on the success of last year’s Jubilee at the Workhouse\, the museum will once again come alive with Victorian characters based on real lives. \nExplore the Workhouse corridors\, immerse yourself in its history and hear tales from within the cloistered walls. \nSee the staff who were charged with maintaining the strict rules and judge whether they were successful. Smell scents of summer blossom in the well-tended gardens or carbolic soap and cooked cabbage in the kitchen and maybe hold your nose as the midden is mucked out. Learn the stories of those you meet or chance upon\, from the Marquess of Ripon himself to the lowliest down and out. But above all don’t get on the wrong side of the Matron! \nFind out if you’d like to play a part in next year’s festival as a community performer\, maybe you’ll be inspired to join the lovely group of volunteers or just come along and experience a day in the life of a Victorian Workhouse. \nCost of admission gives access to all three museum sites and optional 2 hour drama workshop for ages 12+ at 10.30am or 1pm. \nUsual admission charges apply
