Our Reach Out! programme of community activities is already well under way with excitement building for RTF26.
In an expanded outreach programme, artists and facilitators have been out and about spreading festival joy and developing creativity.
Groups of artists from Jennyruth Workshops and Ripon Walled Garden have been busy with papier mache and paint, working with artist Sharon Hockin to create some colourful and over-sized props for a very special festival performance planned for our Big Family Weekend.
The theme is The Big Red Shoes….
And Douglas Thompson from The Art Guild (TAG) is leading rehearsals. The group has been working on improvisation, dance, singing and scripted performance.
All hands on deck!
In Bishop Monkton, Pocklington and York, pupeteer Mark Edwards from Puppetpower North has brought plenty of laughs in lively workshops with some of Dementia Forward’s Young Onset groups.
Our Reach Out! programme will be continue bringing people together, widening horizons and developing skills over the next few months. Thanks to National Lottery project funding through Arts Council of England, support from Two Ridings Foundation, The Liz and Terry Bramall Foundation, The Charles and Elsie Sykes Trust plus a big boost from The Big Give Arts for Impact fund.
